Today it is Trinity Sunday, a day in which we always remember how much we should be thankful to God for revealing us our beautiful religion, and humbled, because despite our indignity, he has revealed to us such High Mysteries as the ones we celebrate today.
This is why today I recommend books that I believe are extremely useful for those who want to refresh or learn the basics of Catholic theology. This titles are easy to understand and planned for lay people. We desire that you may benefit from them.
A Course of Religious Instruction, by Fr. Francis Xavier Schouppe
An Explanation of the Apostles' Creed, by Rev. H. Rolfus, D.D
A Manual of the Catholic Religion, by Fr. Francis Xavier Weninger
And because learning doctrine is in vain if we do not practice virtue, I recommend the following spiritual classics:
The Spiritual Excercises, by St. Ignatius of Loyola
The Interior Castle, by St. Therese of Avila
The Three Ages of Interior Life, by Rev. Garrigou Lagrange. Volume Two is here.
