How to Preserve MP3

Some websites like You Tube, BitChute, Rumble and the like are a goldmine of excellent content that are worth preserving. However, unlike texts. it is very hard to preserve them. There is no way of downloading the video from the platform, and it would be usually preserved by making a transcript of the content or preserving the audio only.

While BitChute and Rumble are free and everybody can say what they like, You Tube is known for blocking and banning videos, as well as demonetizing channels. One never knows where they will be banned or block, so preserving mp3 is something seriously important. 

I preserve mp3 using my I-Pad mini. I downloaded an application named Recorder Pro, which is very easy to use but lacks some functionality. It will be hard to take away the background noise, for example. The good news is that there are multiple video editors and their tutorials, so you know how to clean your mp3. 

First, it may be good to ask the You Tuber if he would like people to preserve their content, to avoid problems with copyright infringement.

You Tube allows the user to make different playlists. Write down a list of the videos you would like to preserve, and then put them on a playlist. Those videos that have already been preserved should be marked out so you don't save them twice. 

For recording, you need a very silent zone. The passing of a train, klaxons, traffic noise, planes, music, can ruin your mp3 and you will have to start again. The best time for avoiding this is the night or very early morning; also, Sundays are less noisy than Mondays. It will be up to you to find a space for that. 

Choose the video you want to preserve, and before it starts, leave Safari. Open the Recorder application and start recording. Return to Safari as quickly and as silently as you can. This will take a few seconds. Try not to use the square button, swiping the screen instead. It is also important not to turn the device off while recording.

Play the You Tube video. You do not want to preserve the advertisements; in order to avoid them, click the refresh button and they will not appear.

When the video stops, go back to the Recorder application and stop the recording. Now you have an mp3!
